Our Team

Delaney Appel
Community Manager
Hi all! I’m Delaney. It’s an amazing experience to serve the Sawyer Community. I attended Ohio State University as an undergraduate student, and with a background in Property Management, my aim is to blend tenant needs with a seamless experience in all things logistic. I’m around most days, don’t hesitate to stop in and introduce yourself!

David Loudon
Marketing | Resident Assistant
I’m David! I’ve worked at Old Sawmill District since April of 2025, and have had the pleasure of documenting all of the action at The Sawyer, as well as operating the front desk! Photographer at heart with a background in hospitality. Feel free to stop by to ask any questions you may have, or just to chat!

Adam Veach
Head of Maintenance
Hi there, I’m Adam. Year after year, they’ve asked me to write a blurb, so I just had David do it. As the smoothest maintenance man in town, I’m Handyman Manny when it comes to locks, dishwashers, dryers- in fact! I’m a Washington native and spend all my free time spoiling my pup Lycan!

Gillian Webster
Resident Life Assistant
I’m Gillian! As RLA, I operate the desk and plan all sorts of fun activities for our tenants. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Nick Marvin
Building Housekeeping
I’m Nick, and I’ve been keeping the halls of The Sawyer clean since May, 2025. Chances are you’ll run into me at some point, always up for a chat, especially about all things cooking!

Kyara Kuizenga
VP of Property Management
Kyara, our Leasing and Administration Manager and a member of the Executive Management Team, has been with OSD since 2021 and brings 13 years of experience in property management. A Spokane, WA native, Kyara enjoys entertaining her Golden Retriever Wriggley, traveling, and spending time with her niece and nephew!
Our Story Begins On The Mill Floor
Long before it was a student neighborhood, this land powered Missoula. The Old Sawmill District was once defined by timber, rail lines, and long days of work that helped shape the city’s economy and identity. It was a place built on effort, momentum, and community—values that haven’t disappeared, just evolved.
The Sawyer stands on that foundation. Named in recognition of the district’s working past, The Sawyer carries forward the spirit of craftsmanship and progress that once defined the site. Where logs were milled and livelihoods were built, a new chapter now exists—one centered on students, creativity, and connection.
Designed for modern living but grounded in local history, The Sawyer blends thoughtful design with the energy of Missoula’s next generation. From its location in the heart of the Old Sawmill District to the intentional spaces built for studying, gathering, and living well, this is a place that respects where it came from while looking forward.
Built On Decades Of Hard Work
The Sawyer is designed to reflect Missoula’s pioneering spirit—past and present. Built and managed by locals, it’s the first new student living community in Missoula rooted directly in the place it calls home. Set within the Old Sawmill District, The Sawyer sits where industry once defined the riverfront and community now defines the future.
Living here means easy access to Silver Park, the riverfront trail system, and the local businesses that give the neighborhood its character. It’s close enough to campus to make mornings easier, and just far enough from downtown to feel like your own space. Thoughtfully placed, intentionally built, and unmistakably Missoula—The Sawyer is student living shaped by the city that surrounds it.
